ABOUT AEIOU CHALLENGE
"Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad launched Alliance Bank AEIOU Challenge Season 5 (the ‘Challenge’) on 30 August 2019. This is the country’s first and only financial literacy comic drawing competition. The theme for the Challenge this year is “How smart spending habits help my family build our future”. Open to school children in Primary 4 to 6 nationwide, the Challenge encourages smart financial habits in the young, through a fun learning experience.
At Alliance Bank, we know how important it is to nurture good financial habits in young children, enabling them to make smart financial decisions later in life. The Challenge aims to help teachers and parents educate young children on the practice of good money habits such as saving, spending, and making smart financial decisions. This is key to increasing the children’s life quality and financial sustainability in their adulthood, by way of fulfilling their long term financial goals.
The main draw of the Challenge this year will include a new category – The Financial e-Game Challenge (the ‘Game’). This exciting gamification is a new element introduced to the comic drawing competition. The intention is to have a wider reach to students in Malaysia. Students can now have the option to learn important financial lessons by completing trivia questions in an interactive game. They can also submit their creative self-drawn comic artwork to participate.
Submissions are now open from 1 September to 27 October 2019 . Participants can send in their comic drawings entries by following the guidelines available on the AEIOU website. Alternatively, participants can complete the Game on the computers of participating schools, or internet from 1 September to 20 October 2019. Shortlisted participants will then proceed to compete in the finals in Kuala Lumpur, where they will stand a chance to emerge as the Champion and win exciting prizes.
The Challenge is offered not only to its adopted schools, but to more than 7,500 primary schools nationwide. Since 2015, the Challenge has brought interactive financial education classes to more than 200 schools. In total, it has received over 39,000 comic submissions from school children over the last four years."
